Brendan Rodgers ‘on Newcastle United, Leicester City radar’
Newcastle United and Leicester City could reportedly go head-to-head in a battle to bring Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers back to the Premier League.
Both sides are said to be weighing up whether to replace their manager with around a quarter of the Premier League season played.
Rafael Benitez is into the final year of his Newcastle contract and is almost certain to walk at the end of the season if he is not pushed, while Claude Puel‘s position has never been truly secure during his 12 months at the King Power Stadium.
Rodgers has attracted admiring glances for Magpies and Foxes chiefs, according to The Sun, and he is a strong contender to take over at one of the Premier League sides.
However, Celtic are said to have put a £9m price tag on the 45-year-old, meaning that Newcastle and Leicester would have to haggle if an agreement is to be struck.
